I've been thinking about how much we change through different stages of life. I see my high school girls I teach at Sunday school, I see myself (a young wife), I see young mothers with toddlers, I see more mature mothers with an empty nest, and I see grandmothers who now have multiple generations after them. Life is mysterious and beautiful. Life seems so frail at times but in retrospect, there is more strength and perseverance than you were aware. For believers, we see that it is only by God's grace we even see tomorrow. And it is Him who provides the strength we need to step into it.
I believe there is exclusive meaning and beauty in each stage of a woman's life, and motherhood is perhaps the most life changing. Mothers have the privilege to teach and guide the next generation to know the Lord that created them. They are one step closer to understanding the Father's heart for His own, that we are His children and He sacrificed the most precious thing for us—this makes parenthood special.
We see a glimpse of God's own heart in our mothers. They deserve to be respected and cherished. And God deserves to be praised for them.
I made three prints to celebrate Mother's Day, and I'll just let Scripture speak for itself.
