How would you define love? Honestly, for most of my life I don't think I could really think of a definition. It's different for everybody, I thought. And for most of my life, I was a not a Christian.
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" - John 15:13
There is no greater love than what Jesus has for us, laying down His life for the undeserving and rebellious. That concept is very hard to grasp for most people. I don't think it quite hits you until God allows it. When I became a Christian and was no longer blinded to my wretched self, it hit me that the gospel made no sense. Why would Jesus die for me that I would live this amazing life for eternity with Him? Why would God so patiently wait while I cursed His name and pursued my heart's desire? Love. That was the very definition of love, so much more humble and sacrificial than how the world defines it. And here I am, struggling every day to love those around me. We all have people in our lives that are just so difficult to love, but I am reminded today that nothing compares to how unworthy I was to God until He drew Himself to me. He was the potter when I was mere clay, lifeless object until He first loved me. It's overwhelming.
Here is our We Love Because print.
WE LOVE BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US. // 1 JOHN 4:19
This is something worth celebrating! I wanted EVERYTHING on the page to be having a party, celebrating the greatest love ever, encouraging the viewer to go out and just love like there is no tomorrow. So let us forgive, turn the other cheek, give without expecting anything in return, love.
